The Best of a Key West Tour

Some of the best moments of a Key West tour are when you are completely lost in the wonder and beauty of the

place and feel like you are in paradise. This is a beautiful place with great weather, wonderful people, some of

the most delicious food you could ever dine on in the US… and some really interesting activities for everyone

to take part in, every day.

What are some of the really interesting things to do in Key West?

Island T’ing adventure

A few miles southwest of Key West is a long coral reef named Eastern Dry Rocks. This is a popular site for

diving, snorkeling and kayaking. The coral reefs down here look like long fingers with sand and coral canyons

in between.

The coral canyons here are rich with marine life. The waters are shallow, so if you don’t want to dive down

deep, you can just snorkel and you will still see a lot of tropical fish and marine life. If you do dive down here,

you’ll notice that the reef here has pretty deep crevices. These are ideal spots for the fish and marine life to hide

away. That’s why this is the perfect home for Groupers and Moray Eels.

The reef here was also the nemesis of sailing ships of old which did not have the benefit of modern sonar

navigation systems. A number of ships were wrecked on these reefs. You can find some of the remains if you

dived down – Old timber pieces, ballast rocks, cannon balls, rusted steel ladders… maybe even a gold or silver

coin. You’ll have to search a bit though. Because many of them are now covered by coral or buried deep in the

sand.

There are also a few mangrove islands with narrow kayaking trails. It’s fun to paddle through those trails and

watch the marine life in the waters below and the birds perched in the mangrove branches. If you’re lucky you

might spot a dolphin or manatee. Stingrays, sharks and a wide variety of tropical fish are seen in plenty.

It’s common for visitors to Key West to hire a boat and spend a whole day out here. They call it the Island T’ing

adventure.

Attend a wedding reception at Sunset Key

Some people are really very lucky. They have their wedding reception in the romantic background of the setting

sun, at Sunset Key. This island which is less than a mile away from Old Town, Key West is one of the most

romantic spots you can visit on your Key West tour. If you happen to be invited to a wedding on this island

make sure you make the most of the opportunity.

The resort located here is beautiful. With Small tropical cottages that have front porches which open out directly

into the soft sandy beach. That gorgeous beach that is the venue of so many picture-perfect weddings. So if you

are extra lucky you just might find yourself on a Key West tour that is actually you attending someone’s

wedding at Sunset Key. Or, better still, maybe it’s you celebrating your own wedding at Sunset Key.

Don’t forget to take a photo of the bridal couple silhouetted against that glorious Florida Sunset. Make the most

of your Key West tour. Have fun, enjoy yourself and if you need any help with any of the arrangements of your

Key West tour, give us a ring. We know how to light up anyone’s vacation.
